Hmm, about 20 hours of smoking left to go..

Finally, some decent brisket?!?

The pics below are of a Trager pellet grill.  That is a BBQ grill that has a mechanism to feed wood pellets into the firebox, letting you basically load it and cook for hours without having to touch it.

This one is loaded with mesquite pellets, and I have a brisket going in it.  I'm going to smoke that for 24 hours, then hopefully get something closer to the brisket I'm used to, from living in Texas for 20 years.  I miss BBQ like that, because here in Georgia it is all about pork, hickory, and they just flat don't know how to properly do a brisket.

StevieFoodstamps, and Wirecutter: I'll be drinking a beer and tipping my hat to you guys when I have said brisket for supper tomorrow night, and leftover brisket for probably a good week...

Just, well, odd?

Things just seem odd.  The weather forecast every day here says thunderstorms in the late afternoon.  It never materializes.  I keep moving my runs to the early morning, trying to avoid the forecast thunderstorms, but they never show up.  I don't mind that so much, as I like running when it is cooler, but I've been leaving my irrigation system off because they keep promising rain that never shows up.

Grocery stores here are out of common sundries.  Even the WallyWorld I was at today didn't have their ubiquitous shopping bags, and they were using substitutes.  Another one in a nearby town yesterday was similar.

I was buying some 30.06 at WallyWorld, and they only stock one box on the shelf at a time.  They say there are "warehouse problems."

Just seems odd., like things are out of kilter?!?
